How does MapleConcierge pricing actually work?

Tiered per-unit base plus a small per-transaction fee. Starter is CAD $0/month for up to 2 units, Essential is CAD $49/month, Professional is CAD $99/month (MapleSecure eSignature included free), Business is CAD $199/month, and Enterprise is CAD $499+/month. On top of the base tier, automated workflows are CAD $0.60 per transaction. Rotessa and Stripe fees pass through at cost. There is no flat-rate plan that covers unlimited units - pricing scales with your portfolio so small landlords are not overpaying.

Do you ever hold tenant rent money?

No. MapleConcierge is built as a pass-through SaaS. Rent flows directly from the tenant via Rotessa (PAD), Stripe (cards), or Interac e-Transfer to the property manager's or owner's own account. We orchestrate the workflow and reconciliation but never sit in the money path. Buildium, AppFolio, and Yardi all operate as money-services businesses for their payment products. Our pass-through model matters for provincial trust-account compliance and for solvency exposure: if MapleConcierge ever went dark, tenant funds would not be stuck with us.

Is there a mobile app?

MapleConcierge is mobile-responsive web - it works on any phone, tablet, or desktop browser without an install. Native iOS and Android apps are on the public roadmap but are not shipped yet. Tenants, owners, and admins all use the same responsive web portal today.

Is my data stored in Canada?

Yes. MapleConcierge hosts all tenant, owner, lease, and financial data on Canadian servers and is PIPEDA compliant. Our Privacy Officer is reachable at privacy@joelnanz.com. We retain data for seven years to satisfy CRA tax retention rules and provincial trust-account audit expectations.

Do you integrate with QuickBooks or Sage?

Yes. We export T776, T5018, RL-31, income, expenses, and owner statements to CSV and to formats accepted by QuickBooks and Sage. Direct two-way sync with QuickBooks Online is in beta with selected clients.

How is this different from Buildium?

Country fit (we are Canadian-built with T776, T5018, RL-31, HST, and Interac native), AI on every page, and pricing model (tiered + $0.60/tx versus Buildium's USD $62-$400/month plus add-ons). For Canadian residential PMs under 500 units, MapleConcierge is typically 30-60% cheaper all-in. Buildium also operates as a money-services business for ePay; we do not.

How is this different from AppFolio or Yardi Breeze?

AppFolio and Yardi Breeze enforce monthly minimums (USD $280 and USD $100 respectively) that punish Canadian PMs under 100 units. Neither supports Interac e-Transfer reconciliation, native T776/T5018/RL-31, or bilingual French tenant portals. AppFolio also requires annual contracts. MapleConcierge is month-to-month, starts at CAD $0, and ships every Canadian-specific feature in the base product.

Do you do tenant screening?

We do AI-assisted applicant review: a standardised application form, document checklist, and AI-summarised applicant profile that flags inconsistencies and missing references. Full integration with third-party credit and background-check vendors is on the roadmap. We are deliberate about not over-promising on screening - decisions stay with you.

What kind of support do you provide?

Business-hours support in Atlantic Time (Monday-Friday, 9am-6pm AST) by email, chat, and phone. Paying clients also get an after-hours emergency line for service outages and urgent rent-collection issues. We are based in Moncton, New Brunswick - the team that builds the product also answers the phone.

Which provinces are fully covered?

Lease templates and regulatory compliance shipped today (powered by MapleSecure): Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario (English and French), Prince Edward Island, and Quebec (including RL-31 receipts and HST/QST handling). Saskatchewan and the territories are on the roadmap; they are supported today for ledger, owner reporting, and payments.

Can I migrate from Buildium, AppFolio, or spreadsheets?

Yes. We provide assisted migration from Buildium, AppFolio, Yardi Breeze, Re-Leased, DoorLoop, and spreadsheets, including units, leases, contacts, owners, ledger history, and recurring rent schedules. Standard migrations complete in 5-10 business days at no setup fee on the Essential tier and above. Because we do not hold tenant funds, payment-rail switching is handled cleanly as part of the cutover.
